Alliston pulls away in second, rolls over Huntsville, 9-1

The Huntsville Otters allowed the Alliston Hornets to net five goals during the second period and fell, 9-1.

The win gave Alliston a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Hornets were led by Mark ODonnell, who finished with one goal. ODonnell scored 5:44 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Alliston. Mike Campeau provided the assist.

Alliston stifled Huntsville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Hornets' offense rang up 47 shots on the Otters' net.

Alliston additionally got points from Joe Cochrane, who also registered one goal and one assist and Tanner Dockerty, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Alliston included Drake Board, who had three and Cole Parker, Andre Lessard, and Brandon Alward, who each put in one. More assists for Alliston came via Randy Cox, Adam Maceachern, David Leblanc, Zack Skubnik, and Nic Archibald, who contributed one a piece and Alex Daley and Bobby Sloan, who each chipped in two.

Huntsville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Alliston power plays. Alliston's defense shut down the Otters' forwards for much of the game, and Huntsville got off only 13 shots during the contest.

Tyler Brindle made 12 saves for the Hornets on 13 shots. Alliston incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Otters' Tye Greschuk stopped 38 shots out of the 47 that he faced. Huntsville incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
