DiNatale lifts Belle River over Mooretown, 3-1

The Belle River Canadiens relied on the scoring touch of Chris DiNatale, who netted two goals, to beat the Mooretown Flags, 3-1.

DiNatale scored at 14:16 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 19:11 into the third to make the score 3-1 Belle River.

The win gave Belle River a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Canadiens excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Belle River also got a goal from James Shelton as well. In addition, Belle River received assists from Billy Eansor, who had two and Derek Haskell, Donnovan Plummer, and Richard Dunning, who each chipped in one.

Mooretown's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Belle River power plays.

The Flags were led by Riley Roberts, who scored the team's only goal. Roberts scored 9:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mooretown. Jeff Schroeter provided the assist.

Zakk Olvin recorded 18 saves for Belle River. The Canadiens incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mooretown's Brandon Johnson stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Flags incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
