Brent Rae was all over the ice for the Mitchell Hawks, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Mitchell's 5-2 win over the Hanover Barons. Rae scored 5:23 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Mitchell. Jalen Aitcheson provided the assist. Rae dished an assist on Aitcheson's goal that made the score 1-1 at 14:58 into the first period. He added another helper on Jade Maxwell's goal that made the score 2-1 Mitchell at 1:49 into the second period.The win by the Hawks clinched the best of seven series at 4-2. Hanover's power play was ineffective against Mitchell's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Hawks forced the Barons goalie Mitch Campbell to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Mitchell additionally got points from Maxwell, who also registered one goal and one assist, Aitcheson, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, and Jerry Ennet, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Luke Salter also scored for Mitchell. Hanover kept Mitchell's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ben Nelson made 32 saves on 34 shots. The Barons were helped by Tyson Soers, who grabbed one goal. Soers scored on the power play 6:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hanover. Hanover earned a power play opportunity when Matt Van DeWalle was put in the box for slashing. Robbie Moe assisted on the tally. Hanover also got a goal from Alex Kuntz as well. In addition, Hanover received assists from Brad Pitt, who had one. The Hawks totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. Mitchell ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Scott Fries was ejected from the game. Mitch Campbell made 27 saves for the Barons on 32 shots. Hanover incurred 40 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
