Mitchell squeaks by Hanover, 4-3

The game between the Mitchell Hawks and the Hanover Barons was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Mitchell emerged with a 4-3 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Jerry Ennet secured the win for the Hawks with a goal in the third period.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Hanover faces elimination next time out.

Ennet had two goals to lead Mitchell to victory.

The Barons were unable to stop the Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Mitchell eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Mitchell also got a goal from Jade Maxwell as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mitchell were Jalen Aitcheson, Brent Rae, Ryan Sykes, and Jesse Degroote, who each chipped in one.

Hanover kept the Hawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Joe Metzger made 32 saves on 35 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

The Barons were led by Robbie Moe, who registered one goal and two assists. Moe scored on the power play 1:20 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Hanover had taken the advantage when Mitchell's Matt Van DeWalle got sent off for cross checking. Jason Demetrius provided the assist. Hanover additionally got points from Matt Drake, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Josh Steffler also scored for Hanover. More assists for Hanover came via Alex Kuntz, who had one.

The Hawks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Mitch Campbell rejected 29 shots on goal for the Barons. Hanover incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
