Morris/Benson Area falls to Marshall after surprising comebackLee Community Center Tue, Jan 29, 2013 The Marshall Tigers climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Morris/Benson Area Storm, 5-4. Marshall never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Tigers trailed 4-2 after a goal by Morris/Benson Area's Tanner Picht at 12 seconds in the third period. Marshall tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Quinn Horvath at 2:33 in the third period. The Tigers scored the game winner at 3:58 in the third period on a goal by Horvath. Marshall excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Storm were unable to stop the Tigers from sending pucks towards the net, and Marshall eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Marshall additionally got points from Beau Mikel, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Derek Rasmussen also scored for Marshall. In addition, Marshall received assists from Tyler Untiedt, Levi Hedman, Austin Leek, and Corey Clark, who each chipped in one. Morris/Benson Area did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Storm put an average of 6.1 pucks into the net per game. Morris/Benson Area's offense rang up 44 shots on the Tigers' net. Morris/Benson Area also got points from Brody Gimberlin, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Morris/Benson Area were Mac Beyer, who had three. Masion Campion made 40 saves for Marshall on 44 shots. The Tigers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Kyle Kennedy rejected 28 shots on goal for the Storm. Morris/Benson Area incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
