Redgate stymies Erin, Penetang wins 2-1

The Penetang Kings relied on the sparkling performance of Adam Redgate in net to grab a 2-1 win against the Erin Shamrocks.

The win gave Penetang a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Kings were led by Jordan Schwartz, who finished with one goal. Schwartz scored 18:09 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Penetang. Craig Robinson picked up the assist.

Penetang stifled Erin's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Kings forced the Shamrocks goalie Tom Denstedt to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Penetang also got a goal from Hayden Cole as well. More assists for Penetang came via Sammy Gagnon and Nick Arcan, who each chipped in one.

Erin was led by Jordan Brown, who scored the team's only goal. Brown scored 18:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Erin. Chris Poletek provided the assist.

Penetang's Redgate stopped 29 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Kings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tom Denstedt made 37 saves for the Shamrocks on 39 shots. Erin incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
