West Michigan Hounds 18U stifles Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U's comeback, gains 6-4 victory

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U almost clawed its way back from a four-goal deficit, but West Michigan Hounds 18U managed to pull out a 6-4 win in the end.

West Michigan Hounds 18U led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when West Michigan Hounds 18U's P J Heger's scored on the power play at 2:58 in the third period to put West Michigan Hounds 18U up 5-1.

West Michigan Hounds 18U found itself short handed often, totaling 16 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays. The defensemen of West Michigan Hounds 18U were also effective in Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U's zone, and came away with two goals.

West Michigan Hounds 18U was helped by Jairus Schulte, who finished with one goal. Schulte scored 16:11 into the third period to make the score 6-4 West Michigan Hounds 18U. Regan Ward assisted on the tally. West Michigan Hounds 18U also got points from Brandon Wolfe, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U was led by Marcus Mollica, who had one goal and one assist. Mollica scored on the power play 13:36 into the third period to make the score 5-4 West Michigan Hounds 18U. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U had taken the advantage when West Michigan Hounds 18U's Breithaupt got sent off for high sticking. James Wade provided the assist. Max Mclain also scored for Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U. More assists for Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U came via Kohl Donovan, Colin Woods, Nicholas Katzaroff, Charles Arsenescu, and Doc Gentzler, who contributed one a piece.

Philip Kuznetsov rejected 25 shots on goal for West Michigan Hounds 18U. West Michigan Hounds 18U registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U's Kenny Eakle stopped 18 shots out of the 23 that he faced.
