Thamesford uses fast start to beat Exeter, 7-3

The Thamesford Trojans opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 7-3 over the Exeter Hawks.

The win by Thamesford clinched the best of seven series at 4-0.

Kyle Walker was all over the ice for the Trojans, as he tallied one goal and four assists in the win. Walker scored 3:53 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Matt Higgins picked up the assist.

Exeter's power play was ineffective against Thamesford's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Trojans made the Hawks' goaltenders to work all game long, taking 41 shots and forcing 34 saves. Colton James made 10 stops and Bryan Paolotto made 24.

Thamesford also got points from Higgins, who also grabbed one goal and three assists. Thamesford also got a goal from Adam Levine as well. More assists for Thamesford came via Brett Dyck, who had one and James Toye, who had two.

Thamesford was unable to stop Exeter from sending pucks towards the net, and the Hawks eventually piled up 46 shots on goal.

Exeter was led by Hayden Cann, who finished with one goal. Cann scored 2:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Exeter. Brodie Balcom also scored for Exeter. In addition, Exeter received assists from Chiristopher Pfaff and Chris Chapman, who contributed one a piece.

The Trojans' Tynan Lauziere stopped 43 shots out of the 46 that he faced. Thamesford incurred 38 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Hawks incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
