Tavistock falls to Burford in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Scott Pennwarden gave the Burford Bulldogs a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Tavistock Braves when he scored 6:56 into the extra period.

With the win, Burford evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.

The Bulldogs overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Burford trailed 3-1 after a goal by Tavistock's Jeremy Munro at 15:22 in the second period. The Bulldogs tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Jim Salatas at 19:15 in the third period.

Salatas had a great game for Burford, netting two goals.

The Bulldogs forced the Braves goalie Tim Parker to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Burford got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Burford also got a goal from Tyler MacLaughlin as well. In addition, Burford received assists from Guy Polillo, who had one and Kyle Chaney, who had three.

Tavistock's offense rang up 39 shots on the Bulldogs' net.

The Braves were led by Andrew Schacht, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Schacht scored 9:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tavistock. Tristan Hohl assisted on the tally. Brandon Kalbfleisch also scored for Tavistock. More assists for Tavistock came via Derek Cowing, who had one.

Burford's Ben Beechey stopped 36 shots out of the 39 that he faced. The Bulldogs incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Tim Parker made 28 saves for Tavistock on 32 shots. The Braves incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
