Kropf's big game bests Burford in 6-1 Tavistock win

The Tavistock Braves' Deven Kropf had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 6-1 win over the Burford Bulldogs.

Kropf got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 12:22 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Tavistock. Tavistock had gained a power play chance when Tommy Smith was whistled for roughing. Derek Cowing picked up the assist. Kropf dished an assist on Charlie Malson's goal that made the score 3-0 Tavistock at 4:22 into the second period. He added another helper on Malson's goal that made the score 4-1 Tavistock at 1:00 into the third period.

The win gave the Braves a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Burford's power play was ineffective against Tavistock's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Braves forced the Bulldogs goalie Don Davis to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots.

Tavistock additionally got points from Cowing, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Jordan Ritsma also scored for Tavistock. More assists for Tavistock came via James McCorquodale, who had two and Brandon Kalbfleisch, Jeremy Munro, Josh Wagler, Andrew Schacht, Tristan Hohl, and Josh Zehr, who contributed one a piece.

Burford was led by Tyler Vandenbussche, who scored the team's only goal. Vandenbussche scored on the power play 33 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-1 Tavistock. Tyler MacLaughlin provided the assist.

Tim Parker rejected 19 shots on goal for Tavistock. The Braves incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Davis recorded 39 saves for the Bulldogs. Burford incurred 42 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
