Shattuck St. Marys and the St. Thomas Academy Cadets skate to 2-2 (OT) tieShattuck St. Mary's Ice Arena Wed, Jan 16, 2013 Shattuck St. Marys and St. Thomas Academy could not settle their match and fought to a 2-2 tie. Shattuck St. Marys was helped by Norman, who racked up one goal. Norman scored 14:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Shattuck St. Marys. Mcardle provided the assist. Godbout also scored for Shattuck St. Marys. Other players who recorded assists for Shattuck St. Marys were Raskob, who had one. The Cadets managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. St. Thomas Academy ended up below its season average of 6.0 penalty minutes per game. The Cadets could not produce up to they normal offensive output. St. Thomas Academy puts an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game. Shattuck St. Marys' defense shut down the Cadets' forwards for much of the game, and St. Thomas Academy got off only 11 shots during the contest. The Cadets were helped by Matt Perry, who grabbed one goal. Perry scored 10:46 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Austin Sattler assisted on the tally. St. Thomas Academy also got a goal from Henry Hart as well. More assists for St. Thomas Academy came via Alex Johnson, who had one and T.J. Samec, who had two. Brodeur recorded nine saves for Shattuck St. Marys. Shattuck St. Marys avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of one power plays. St. Thomas Academy's David Zevnik stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Cadets registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
