Mankato West holds on for 5-3 win against Madison Edgewood, WI

Madison Edgewood, WI tried its best to erase a four-goal deficit, but the Mankato West Scarlets would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3.

Mankato West made the score 5-1 on a goal by Nick Campbell at 3:11 in the third period, and Madison Edgewood, WI got as close as 5-3 when Jake Dragoo scored 15:52 into the third period.

The Scarlets were helped by Austin Langworthy, who tallied one goal. Langworthy scored 7:19 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Mankato West. Christian Klemme assisted on the tally. Mankato West additionally got points from Galt Goettl, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Zach Erickson also scored for Mankato West. More assists for Mankato West came via Derek Frentz, who had three and Tyler Loe and Max Mettler, who contributed one a piece.

Madison Edgewood, WI was led by A.J. Gullickson, who had one goal and two assists. Gullickson scored on the power play 9:09 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Mankato West. Madison Edgewood, WI had taken the advantage when Mankato West's Mettler got sent off for roughing. Dragoo provided the assist.
