Kobe Roth scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Warroad Warriors held off the challenges of the Osseo Orioles in a tough 3-1 win.

Warroad took over the lead for good with a goal by Roth at 4:07 in the first period. Ben Smieja picked up the assist.

The Warriors' Justin King was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 29 saves and let only one puck past him. King managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.98 prior to the game.

Warroad was paced by Smieja, who tallied one goal and one assist. Smieja scored 14:48 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Warroad. Roth provided the assist.

The Warriors stifled Osseo's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Warroad forced the Orioles goalie Connor Dahlberg to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Warroad additionally got points from Roth, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Warroad also got a goal from Kyle Sylvester as well. In addition, Warroad received assists from Jared Bethune, Casey Anderson, and Nick Jaycox, who contributed one a piece.

Osseo put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Warriors to score on any of their four power plays.

The Orioles were led by Jacob Lange, who scored the team's only goal. Lange scored 4:52 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Warroad. Austin Ledin picked up the assist.

Warroad incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Osseo's Dahlberg stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Orioles incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
