Somerset WI squeaks by Spring Lake Park, 4-2

Somerset WI gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Spring Lake Park Panthers.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Drew Kelly at 17:00 of the second period.

Kelly had two goals and one assist to lead Somerset WI.

Somerset WI stifled Spring Lake Park's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Somerset WI additionally got points from Jesse Brown, who also had one goal and two assists and Brendan Sheean, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Somerset WI were Aaron Moore, Adam Marty, and Reed Kelly, who each chipped in one.

Somerset WI was unable to stop the Panthers from sending pucks towards the net, and Spring Lake Park eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

The Panthers were helped by Marcus Mulvihill, who registered one goal. Mulvihill scored 14:17 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Jake Kroll provided the assist. Spring Lake Park also got a goal from Jason Roeske as well. In addition, Spring Lake Park received assists from Sam Faulkner and David Taylor, who contributed one a piece.

Jordan Langess rejected 32 shots on goal for Somerset WI. Somerset WI incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Spring Lake Park's Aaron Furlano stopped 13 shots out of the 17 that he faced. The Panthers totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Spring Lake Park ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nick Heid was ejected from the game.
