Cretin-Derham Hall's comeback falls short, Orono wins 7-5Schwan SR-1 Thu, Dec 27, 2012 The Orono Spartans, who led by four goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Orono and clinched a 7-5 victory. The Spartans led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Orono's Joey Luedtke's scored on the power play at 3:48 in the second period to put the Spartans up 5-1. Orono got the win behind a great game by Gavin Payne, who had one goal and three assists. Payne scored short handed 4:39 into the third period to make the score 6-4 Orono. The Spartans were on a disadvantage when Wil Horoshak went off the ice for hooking. Luedtke picked up the assist. The Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders' six penalties came back to haunt them, as Cretin-Derham Hall let up four goals while on the penalty kill. Orono outdid its season average for goals scored. The Spartans average 3.4 goals per game. Orono additionally got points from Danny Willson, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Sam Challgren, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, and Luedtke, who also registered two goals and two assists. Orono also got a goal from Jake Flemmer as well. The Raiders were led by Jim Buckingham, who grabbed three goals. Nick Reis also scored for Cretin-Derham Hall.
