Roseau survives Alexandria comeback, wins 3-2Roseau Memorial Fri, Dec 28, 2012 The Alexandria Cardinals tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Roseau Rams held on for a 3-2 victory. Roseau took a 3-1 lead during the third period, only to have Alexandria storm back on a Jack Wensman goal 12:17 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Zach Yon had two goals and one assist to lead the Rams. Yon scored the first of his two goals at 55 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Roseau. Cole Bjugson assisted on the tally. Yon's next tally made the score 2-1 Roseau with 12:25 left in the second period. Roseau managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Rams wound up below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game. Roseau kept the Cardinals' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ben Allen made 38 saves on 41 shots. Roseau additionally got points from Alex Strand, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Roseau came via Tanner Okeson, who had one. Alexandria was helped by Ryan Marciniak, who finished with one goal. Marciniak scored 9:51 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Parker Revering provided the assist. In addition, Alexandria received assists from Christian Canavati, who had one. Ryan Anderson recorded 17 saves for the Rams. Roseau registered one goal on six power play opportunities. The Cardinals incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors and had no power play opportunities.
