Eastview survives penalties, beats Park of Cottage Grove, 4-0Rochester: Graham Arena 3 Fri, Dec 28, 2012 The Park of Cottage Grove Wolfpack failed to take advantage of their power play opportunities and the Eastview Lightning shook off a number of penalties to win, 4-0. Eastview was sparked by Thomas Hutsell, who tallied one goal. Hutsell scored 10:20 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Eastview. The Lightning were often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. Eastview had been averaging 10.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Lightning put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Park of Cottage Grove to score on any of its seven power plays. Eastview featured an improved defense during the game. The Lightning average 2.4 goals allowed per game. Pierce Erickson also scored for Eastview. Other players who recorded assists for Eastview were Ryan McNamara, who had one and Nick Abbott, who had two. The Wolfpack did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Park of Cottage Grove puts an average of 2.4 pucks into the net per game. Zachary Driscoll made 23 saves for Eastview on 23 shots. The Lightning registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Matthew Palmquist rejected 17 shots on goal for the Wolfpack. Park of Cottage Grove ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
