Forest Lake blows out Blake School, 11-1

The Forest Lake Rangers had an eight-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 11-1 win over the Blake School Bears.

Cody Rogala was all over the ice for Forest Lake, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Rogala scored the first of his two goals at 3:14 into the second period to make the score 4-0 Forest Lake. Kyle Parker picked up the assist. Rogala's next tally made the score 11-1 Forest Lake with 5:04 left in the third period.

The Rangers forced Blake School goalie Jackson Norris to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Forest Lake outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Rangers average 4.5 goals per contest. Forest Lake capitalized on the Bears' penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Forest Lake additionally got points from Brett Gravelle, who also tallied two goals and two assists and Parker, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Forest Lake included Alex Egle, who had one and Ryan Herbert and Brandon Rogers, who scored two goals each. In addition, Forest Lake received assists from John Suess, who had two, Jack Schmidt, who had three, and Clayton Dahly, Weston Kilpela, and Jesse Garcia, who contributed one a piece.

The Rangers' defense shut down Blake School's forwards for much of the game, and the Bears got off only 12 shots during the contest.

Garcia recorded 11 saves for Forest Lake. The Rangers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Blake School's Norris stopped 27 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Bears incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
