The South St.Paul Packers tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the New Prague Spartans held on for a 5-4 victory.

New Prague took a 5-3 lead during the third period, only to have South St.Paul storm back on a Alec Miller goal 15:48 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Spartans' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five South St.Paul power plays. New Prague forced the Packers goalie Grant Amelse to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

The Spartans were helped by Nick Sampson, who had one goal. Sampson scored 1:21 into the third period to make the score New Prague. Kain Wagner provided the assist. New Prague additionally got points from Cody Meyer, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Austin Kilian also scored for New Prague.
