Portland EJ downs Space Coast Hurricanes in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Portland EJ pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over Space Coast Hurricanes on a clutch goal by Timothy Searles.

Searles had two goals and one assist to lead Portland EJ. Searles scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 9:39 into the second period to make the score 2-2. A roughing penalty on Scotty Tam had put Portland EJ on the power play. Patrick Kearns provided the assist. Searles' next tally on the power play made the score 4-3 Portland EJ with 18:55 left in overtime. Brady Fleurent assisted on the tally.

Portland EJ also got points from Fleurent, who also had one goal and one assist. Portland EJ also got a goal from Jason Michaud as well. More assists for Portland EJ came via Zachary White and Devin Mize, who each chipped in one.

Space Coast Hurricanes found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 11 shots against Portland EJ's defense.

Space Coast Hurricanes was led by Crissostomos Villarreal, who racked up two goals. Villarreal scored the first of his two goals at 9:35 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Arthur Anderson picked up the assist. Villarreal's next tally made the score 3-2 Space Coast Hurricanes with 8:17 left in the second period. Space Coast Hurricanes had gotten the advantage when Portland EJ's Michaud was sent off for cross checking. Jamie Chilcott assisted on the tally. Griffin Rogers also scored for Space Coast Hurricanes. In addition, Space Coast Hurricanes received assists from Jack Musil, who had two.

Portland EJ's Patrick Feeley stopped eight shots out of the 11 that he faced. Portland EJ incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Parker Bonis made 20 saves for Space Coast Hurricanes on 24 shots. Space Coast Hurricanes incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
