Amery WI rips St. Paul Como Park, 6-2

Amery WI's Jake Mullendore had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-2 win over the St. Paul Como Park Cougars.

Mullendore found the back of the net 52 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Amery WI and again while 7:15 into the first to make the score 3-0 Amery WI.

Amery WI kept St. Paul Como Park's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ernie Mantel made 27 saves on 33 shots.

Amery WI additionally got points from Sam Schieffer, who also grabbed one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Amery WI included Dawson Mershon, who had one and Kyle Sorensen, who had two. In addition, Amery WI received assists from Cory Karnick and Luke Harris, who each chipped in one.

The Cougars' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Amery WI power plays. St. Paul Como Park could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Cougars put an average of 5.0 pucks into the net per game.

St. Paul Como Park was led by Sawyer Scanlon, who racked up two goals. Scanlon scored the first of his two goals at 10:36 into the third period to make the score 6-1 Amery WI. Scanlon's next tally made the score 6-2 Amery WI with 8:03 left in the third period. Mitch McNamee assisted on the tally. More assists for St. Paul Como Park came via Toom McCullough, who had one.

Amery WI's Jimmy Richison stopped 18 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Amery WI incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Cougars incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
