Chisago Lakes Area downs Shakopee in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Colton Reynolds gave the Chisago Lakes Area Wildcats a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Shakopee Sabers when he scored 35 seconds into the extra period.

Chisago Lakes Area overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Wildcats fell behind 3-0 after a goal by Shakopee's Matthew DeRoma at 9:19 in the second period. Chisago Lakes Area tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Bradee Thompson at 11:02 in the third period.

The Wildcats' penalty kill excelled, as Chisago Lakes Area gave up zero goals despite allowing nine power plays.

The Wildcats stifled the Sabers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Chisago Lakes Area's offense rang up 34 shots on Shakopee's net.

Chisago Lakes Area additionally got points from Thompson, who also had one goal and one assist. Chisago Lakes Area also got a goal from Ryan Chambers as well. In addition, Chisago Lakes Area received assists from Zachary Lambrecht, who had two and Louis Kastenbauer, Landon Lushankpo, Jacob Speight, and Christopher Ritter, who contributed one a piece.

The Sabers were helped by Sheldon Miks, who finished with one goal. Miks scored 15:27 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Shakopee. Preston Husom assisted on the tally. Shakopee also got points from Bubba Kubes, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Shakopee came via Ryan Nickell, who had two and Sebastian Vacca and Nate Kreuser, who each chipped in one.

The Wildcats' Jacob Dubose stopped 19 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Chisago Lakes Area totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. For the Wildcats, Justin Bye was ejected from the game. Andrew Lyon made 30 saves for Shakopee on 34 shots. The Sabers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
