Marshall falls to Windom Area in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Windom Area Eagles' Travis Janssen scored 26 seconds into overtime to beat the Marshall Tigers, 5-4 (OT).

Windom Area nearly gave up a two-score lead. The Eagles made the score 4-2 on a goal by Janssen at 2:18 in the third period. Marshall pulled to within 4-3 on a power play goal by Nate Hoeft at 9:43 in the third period.

Janssen had four goals to lead Windom Area to victory. Janssen got on the scoresheet 8:13 into the first period. He then added goals at 42 seconds into the second.

The Eagles could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

Devin Neilsen also scored for Windom Area. In addition, Windom Area received assists from Zach Bartosh, who had two and Stuart Schumacher, Mitchell Macek, Ryan Clark, and Andrew Hirsch, who contributed one a piece.

The Tigers' offense rang up 51 shots on Windom Area's net.

Ben Stubbe recorded 47 saves for the Eagles. Windom Area registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Masion Campion made 20 saves for Marshall on 25 shots. The Tigers totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 3-for-8 on the power play.
