East Ridge squeaks by Park of Cottage Grove, 4-2

The game between the East Ridge Raptors and the Park of Cottage Grove Wolfpack was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end East Ridge emerged with a 4-2 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Derek Hammer at 7:20 of the third period.

The Raptors were sparked by Hammer, who grabbed one goal and one assist.

East Ridge's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Park of Cottage Grove power plays. The Raptors forced Park of Cottage Grove goalie Matthew Palmquist to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

East Ridge also got points from Nicholas Leach, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Luke Ringhofer also scored for East Ridge. In addition, East Ridge received assists from Jack Greeley, who had two and Jacob Nickoloff and Robert Nickoloff, who each chipped in one.

The Wolfpack were helped by Alex Kielsa, who had one goal. Kielsa scored 7:13 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Park of Cottage Grove. Park of Cottage Grove also got a goal from Christopher Peterson as well. More assists for Park of Cottage Grove came via Cody Newton, who had one.

East Ridge's Tyler Guck stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Raptors incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Palmquist rejected 36 shots on goal for Park of Cottage Grove. The Wolfpack ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
