Gillett leads Rosemount over Park of Cottage Grove, 7-3

The Rosemount Irish's Lukas Gillett had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-3 win over the Park of Cottage Grove Wolfpack.

Gillett got on the scoresheet 8:35 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:47 into the second, at 12:00 into the second, and at 57 seconds into the third.

Rosemount put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Park of Cottage Grove to score on any of its three power plays. The Wolfpack were unable to stop the Irish from sending pucks towards the net, and Rosemount eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. The Irish outdid their season average for goals scored. Rosemount averages 3.6 goals per game.

Rosemount additionally got points from Evan Weiand, who also had one goal and one assist, Zach Bichler, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Luke Meade, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Rosemount received assists from Bryan Herman, who had one, Andrew Glad, who had two, and Ryan Foley, who had three.

Park of Cottage Grove's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Rosemount power plays.

The Wolfpack were helped by Alex Kielsa, who finished with one goal. Kielsa scored 13:14 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Rosemount. Eric Stoffel provided the assist. Park of Cottage Grove also got a goal from Cody Newton as well. Other players who recorded assists for Park of Cottage Grove were Christopher Peterson, who had one.

Austin Leslie rejected 15 shots on goal for the Irish. Rosemount incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Kyle Strand recorded 31 saves for Park of Cottage Grove. The Wolfpack incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
