Tartan blows out Park of Cottage Grove, 4-0

The Tartan Titans were firing on all cylinders against the Park of Cottage Grove Wolfpack, and when the final buzzer sounded Titans emerged with a 4-0 win.

Jake Jackson had one goal and two assists to lead Tartan. Jackson scored on the power play 9:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tartan. The Titans had taken the advantage when Park of Cottage Grove's Cody Newton got sent off for roughing. Zach Ledman assisted on the tally.

The Wolfpack's power play was ineffective against Tartan's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Titans' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Park of Cottage Grove power plays. Tartan kept Park of Cottage Grove's goalie busy throughout the game, and Rodney Stedt made 32 saves on 36 shots.

Tartan additionally got points from Ledman, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. Tartan also got a goal from Eric Olheiser as well. Other players who recorded assists for Tartan were Brady OSullivan, who had two and Jake Picht and Mike Winberg, who each chipped in one.

The Wolfpack's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Park of Cottage Grove finished with 19 penalty minutes.

Gabe Splichal recorded 20 saves for the Titans. Tartan totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and three majors and went 1-for-6 on the power play.
