Maney's big game bests Anoka in 4-1 Andover win

The Andover Huskies' Nick Maney had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 4-1 win over the Anoka Tornadoes.

Maney scored at 57 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Andover and again while on the power play 14:36 into the third to make the score 4-1 Andover.

Andover put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Anoka to score on any of its four power plays. The 34 shots that the Huskies put on net surpassed Andover's average of 3.3 shots per game this season.

Andover also got points from Brady Barthold, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Tyler Tomberlin also scored for Andover. Other players who recorded assists for Andover were Christian Mohs, who had two and Jared McComber, Brit Brothen, and Zach Sitarz, who each chipped in one.

The Tornadoes were led by Chase West, who scored the team's only goal. West scored 12:41 into the first period to make the score 1-1.

Chase Perry recorded 15 saves for the Huskies. Andover totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Robbie Goor rejected 30 shots on goal for Anoka. The Tornadoes ended with 32 minutes in penalty time with one minor and two majors.
