New Prague outlasts Farmington, 4-3

The New Prague Spartans and the Farmington Tigers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but New Prague made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

The Spartans gained the winning advantage on a goal by Nick Sampson 13:37 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Sampson had a great game for New Prague, netting two goals.

New Prague also got a goal from Lucas Binger as well. Other players who recorded assists for New Prague were Jake Klein, Cody Meyer, Kain Wagner, and Austin Isaacson, who contributed one a piece.

Farmington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

The Tigers were led by Justin Novak, who finished with two goals. Novak scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 14:59 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Farmington had gained a power play chance when Austin Kilian was whistled for roughing. Devin Bernu provided the assist. Novak's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Farmington with 19:47 left in the third period. Jack Erickson assisted on the tally. Corey Rudrud also scored for Farmington. In addition, Farmington received assists from Grady Hauswirth, Erik Holmstrom, and Justin Hyytinen, who each chipped in one.

Evan Bisek recorded 18 saves for the Spartans. New Prague ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. Nick Schoening made 15 saves for the Tigers on 19 shots. Farmington totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 3-for-2 on the power play.
