Picht's hat trick boosts Morris/Benson Area over Prairie Centre, 4-1

Tanner Picht lifted the Morris/Benson Area Storm to a 4-1 victory with a hat trick against the Prairie Centre North Stars.

Picht's first goal came 16:17 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:13 into the second and at 16:55 into the third.

Morris/Benson Area did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Storm average 6.1 goals per game.

Morris/Benson Area also got points from Mac Beyer, who also registered one goal and one assist.

Prairie Centre stifled Morris/Benson Area's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The North Stars were led by Preston Pung, who scored the team's only goal. Pung scored on the power play 10:41 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Prairie Centre. Prairie Centre had gotten the advantage when the Storm's Tanner Mikkelson was sent off for tripping. Zack Pierskalla assisted on the tally.

Kyle Kennedy rejected 17 shots on goal for Morris/Benson Area. The Storm totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Morris/Benson Area ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nate Vipond was ejected from the game. Clay Deters recorded 26 saves for the North Stars. Prairie Centre incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
