Hayward, WI outlasts Proctor, 6-4

Hayward, WI and the Proctor Rails were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Hayward, WI made the most of its opportunities and won, 6-4.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Tyler Hamalainen secured the win for Hayward, WI with a goal in the second period.

Paul Danczyk had two goals and one assist to lead Hayward, WI. Danczyk scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 3:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hayward, WI. A high sticking penalty on Jack Nikko had put Hayward, WI on the power play. David Knapp assisted on the tally. Danczyk's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 5:52 left in the first period. Jared Ahlgren picked up the assist.

Hayward, WI additionally got points from Nick Eytcheson, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Hamalainen, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Hayward, WI also got a goal from Jack Rainville as well. Other players who recorded assists for Hayward, WI were Grant Bartz, who had one.

Proctor was helped by Matt Fulton, who racked up one goal. Fulton scored 8:02 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Proctor. David Misiak provided the assist. Proctor also got points from Jake Malec, who also registered one goal and one assist and Christian Ripley, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Ty Rackliffe also scored for Proctor. More assists for Proctor came via Trace Norton, Shane Gould, Josh Ernst, and Keenan McGovern, who contributed one a piece.

Hayward, WI incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Rails totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play.
