Burton's goals lift Minnetonka to 6-2 victory over Eden PrairieEden Prairie Community Center Thu, Feb 14, 2013 Charlie Burton had two goals to lead the Minnetonka Skippers to a 6-2 victory over the Eden Prairie Eagles. Burton scored at 9:06 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Minnetonka and again while 11:16 into the second to make the score 3-1 Minnetonka.Minnetonka managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Skippers finished below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game. Minnetonka's offense was clicking better than usual and put 38 shots on goal during the game, better than the 6.2 shots per game it averages. Minnetonka additionally got points from Max Coatta, who also tallied two goals and three assists to lead the team in points and Jack Ramsey, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Jack Kuehn also scored for Minnetonka. In addition, Minnetonka received assists from Connor Thie, who had two and Tommy Vannelli and Charlie Huminski, who each chipped in one. Eden Prairie put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Skippers to score on any of their four power plays. The Eagles put 32 shots on net during the contest, more than the 10.7 they average per game. Eden Prairie was helped by Michael Graham, who had one goal. Graham scored 8:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Eden Prairie. Steven Spinner assisted on the tally. Eden Prairie also got a goal from Luc Snuggerud as well. Other players who recorded assists for Eden Prairie were Hunter Warner, who had two. Jacob Berger rejected 30 shots on goal for Minnetonka. Jake Kielly recorded 32 saves for the Eagles. Eden Prairie incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
