Burt nets hat trick, leads Minnetonka to 5-3 win over Eden Prairie

A hat trick by Austin Burt was the highlight in Skippers' 5-3 win against the Eden Prairie Eagles.

Burt notched his first tally 8:42 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:54 into the second and at 2:55 into the third.

The Minnetonka Skippers stifled Eden Prairie's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Minnetonka relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Tommy Vannelli, Max Coatta and Jimmy Schuldt took 19 of the team's 34 shots.

Minnetonka additionally got points from Coatta, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Minnetonka also got a goal from Charlie Huminski as well. In addition, Minnetonka received assists from AJ Klein, who had one and Jack Ramsey and Tommy Brandabur, who contributed two a piece.

The Eagles put 36 shots on net during the contest, more than the 10.9 they average per game.

Eden Prairie was helped by Nic Bentz, who finished with one goal. Bentz scored 4:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Eden Prairie. Riley Argetsinger provided the assist. Andrew Knudsen also scored for Eden Prairie. Other players who recorded assists for Eden Prairie were Luc Snuggerud, who had two and Mason Bergh and Steven Spinner, who each chipped in one.

Jacob Berger rejected 33 shots on goal for the Skippers. Minnetonka incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Eagles' Jake Kielly stopped 29 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Eden Prairie incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
