Behind a great game by Jack Becker, who had two goals, the Mahtomedi Zephyers defeated the Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl Blue Devils, 3-1.

Becker found the back of the net on the power play 15:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mahtomedi and again while 11:30 into the second to make the score 3-1 Mahtomedi.

Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl was unable to stop Mahtomedi from sending pucks towards the net, and the Zephyers eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Mahtomedi also got a goal from Trevor Keeney as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mahtomedi were Kellen Campbell, who had two and Adam Boben, Truman Slack, Sam Koenig, and Mac Rathmanner, who each chipped in one.

The Blue Devils were led by Zach Kalisch, who scored the team's only goal. Kalisch scored on the power play 53 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1.

Thomas Hennen recorded 18 saves for Mahtomedi. The Zephyers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl's Lucas Murray stopped 36 shots out of the 39 that he faced. The Blue Devils incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
