Huge game by Leintz boosts Bagley/Foston over Ely/Northeast Range, 9-5

Behind a great game by Aaron Leintz, who had two goals and five assists, the Bagley/Foston Flyers defeated the Ely/Northeast Range Timberwolves, 9-5.

Leintz found the back of the net on the power play 10:51 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Bagley/Foston and again while 2:44 into the third to make the score 7-3 Bagley/Foston.

Bagley/Foston's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Ely/Northeast Range power plays. The Flyers forced Ely/Northeast Range goalie Kael Richards to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. Bagley/Foston's goal total was higher than its season average. The Flyers have scored at the pace of 5.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

Bagley/Foston additionally got points from Tyler Godin, who also registered one goal and one assist, Sean LaVine, who also grabbed three goals and one assist, and Zach Thoma, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Bagley/Foston also got a goal from Christian Larson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Bagley/Foston were Lucas Olson and Luke Lane, who contributed one a piece.

The Timberwolves' offense rang up 52 shots on Bagley/Foston's net. Ely/Northeast Range surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Timberwolves average 2.6 goals per contest.

Ely/Northeast Range was helped by John Schreffler, who had one goal and two assists. Schreffler scored 8:24 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Bagley/Foston. Brad Burgess assisted on the tally. Ely/Northeast Range also got points from Louis Gerzin, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Carter Manning, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. Bobby Shusta also scored for Ely/Northeast Range. In addition, Ely/Northeast Range received assists from Ben Aho and Jared Spector, who each chipped in one.

Andrew Gebhardt made 47 saves for the Flyers on 52 shots. Bagley/Foston incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Richards recorded 40 saves for the Timberwolves. Ely/Northeast Range ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major.
