South St.Paul downs Simley in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The South St.Paul Packers pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Simley Spartans on a clutch goal by Brenden Shanley.

Shanley was all over the ice for South St.Paul, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Shanley scored the first of his two goals at 15:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 South St.Paul. Alec Miller assisted on the tally. Shanley's next tally made the score 4-3 South St.Paul with 12:48 left in overtime. Billy Brandecker picked up the assist.

The Packers' offense rang up 32 shots on Simley's net.

South St.Paul additionally got points from Brandecker, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Miller, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, South St.Paul received assists from Jake Hill, who had two.

The Spartans were led by Ben Rauschnot, who registered one goal and two assists. Rauschnot scored 16:41 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Simley. Nick Battis assisted on the tally. Simley also got a goal from _ Hayes as well. More assists for Simley came via John Reibert and Aaron Leafgren, who contributed one a piece.

Grant Amelse rejected 26 shots on goal for South St.Paul. The Packers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Zach Boughton recorded 28 saves for Simley. The Spartans incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
