Oliver nets hat trick, leads North High to 10-1 win over Richfield

A hat trick by Tyler Oliver was the highlight in Polars' 10-1 win against the Richfield Spartans.

Oliver's first goal came 6:00 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:14 into the first and at 7:15 into the second.

The North High Polars' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Richfield power plays. North High kept Richfield's goalie busy throughout the game, and John Meyer made 30 saves on 40 shots. The Polars bested their season scoring average. This season, North High averages 2.6 goals per contest.

North High additionally got points from Justin Oliver, who also racked up two goals and three assists, Adan Hildebrandt, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Ryan Donavan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. North High also got a goal from Tony Bollman as well. More assists for North High came via Matt Luberts and Frank Flaherty, who each chipped in one and Jake Dahlberg and Joey Mercer, who contributed two a piece.

The Spartans were led by Kevin Ahlstrand, who scored the team's only goal. Ahlstrand scored 10:05 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Kody Ahlstrand assisted on the tally.

The Polars' Steve Orne stopped 19 shots out of the 20 that he faced. North High incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities.
