Winona's Kelly deadly on offense in 4-1 win against Lacrosse Central

The Winona Winhawks relied on the scoring touch of Jacob Kelly, who netted two goals, to beat Lacrosse Central, 4-1.

Kelly scored at 4:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Winona and again while 15 seconds into the third to make the score 2-1 Winona.

Winona's penalty kill excelled, as the Winhawks gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Winona stifled Lacrosse Central's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Winhawks' offense rang up 35 shots on Lacrosse Central's net. Winona could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Skyler Grossell also scored for Winona. More assists for Winona came via Nick Rowe, Ty Mannor, Luke Hemker, Nick Arnold, and Michael Lubahn, who contributed one a piece.

Lacrosse Central excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Lacrosse Central was led by Colton Tydrich, who scored the team's only goal. Tydrich scored 16:56 into the second period to make the score 1-1.

Andrew Yeske rejected 19 shots on goal for the Winhawks. Zack Brady recorded 31 saves for Lacrosse Central. Lacrosse Central ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
