Marshall School Duluth blows out Greenway, 11-0Mars Lakeview Arena Tue, Feb 12, 2013 The Greenway Raiders had trouble finding ways to stop the Marshall School Duluth Hilltoppers, which beat Raiders, 11-0. Matthew Klassen was all over the ice for Marshall School Duluth, as he tallied two goals and three assists in the win. Klassen scored the first of his two goals at 13:30 into the second period to make the score 8-0 Marshall School Duluth. Derek Farrell assisted on the tally. Klassen's next tally made the score 10-0 Marshall School Duluth with 12:40 left in the third period. Jeremy Lopez picked up the assist. The Hilltoppers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Greenway to score on any of its four power plays. Marshall School Duluth's defense was surprisingly good. The Hilltoppers average 2.8 goals allowed per game. Marshall School Duluth forced the Raiders goalie Sam LaDoux to work between the pipes, taking 70 shots. The Hilltoppers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Marshall School Duluth has scored at the pace of 3.3 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Marshall School Duluth also got points from Kyle Jones, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Kris McKinzie, who also registered three goals and one assist, and Farrell, who also tallied one goal and three assists. Marshall School Duluth also had goals scored by John McKenna, who had two and Lane Krenzen and Joe Daly, who scored one goal each. In addition, Marshall School Duluth received assists from Kyle McKinzie, Connor Flaherty, Luke Pavelich, and Jordon Fralich, who each chipped in one and Jack Dodd and Lane Eliason, who contributed two a piece. Greenway did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Raiders put an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game. Greenway's offense was handcuffed by the Hilltoppers' defensive play, and the Raiders managed only six shots on goal during the game. Marshall School Duluth's Caden Flaherty stopped six shots out of the six that he faced. The Hilltoppers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. LaDoux rejected 59 shots on goal for Greenway. The Raiders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
