Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl rips Proctor, 5-1

The Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl Blue Devils had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the Proctor Rails.

Travis Kemp was all over the ice for Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl, as he tallied two goals in the win. Kemp's tallies came at 10:50 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl and 6:46 into the third to make the score 4-0 Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl.

The Blue Devils forced Proctor goalie Isaac Scherber to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots.

Louie Judnick also scored for Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl. More assists for Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl came via Zach Voss, who had two and Chase Poppenhagen, Jackson Marcone, Zach Kalisch, and Alex Lackner, who each chipped in one.

The Rails excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Lucas Murray recorded 21 saves for Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl. The Blue Devils incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Scherber rejected 48 shots on goal for Proctor. The Rails incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
