Perkins' hat trick boosts Hibbing / Chisholm over International Falls, 8-3

Colten Perkins netted a hat trick to lead the Hibbing / Chisholm Bluejackets over the International Falls Broncos, 8-3.

Perkins' first goal came 4:11 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:51 into the first and at 14:32 into the third.

Hibbing / Chisholm led 4-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

The Bluejackets bested their season scoring average. Hibbing / Chisholm has scored at the pace of 3.6 goals per game during the current campaign. The Bluejackets put 36 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.7 they average per game.

Hibbing / Chisholm additionally got points from Dylan Pechovnik, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Derek Abrahamson, who also racked up one goal and three assists, and Adam Johnson, who also tallied one goal and three assists. Ty Birdsall also scored for Hibbing / Chisholm. In addition, Hibbing / Chisholm received assists from Joe Fernstermacher, who had one and Cole Schafer, who had two.

International Falls was helped by Jakob Ettestad, who finished with one goal. Ettestad scored 13:32 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Hibbing / Chisholm. Jack Mellstrom provided the assist. International Falls also got points from Mellstrom, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. International Falls also got a goal from Jordan Tilander as well. Other players who recorded assists for International Falls were Evan Holenko, Derek White, and Lucas Debenedet, who contributed one a piece.

Tyler Carlson rejected 24 shots on goal for Hibbing / Chisholm. The Bluejackets ended with no penalties and went 3-for-0 on the power play. The Broncos' Wesley Gunnerson stopped 28 shots out of the 36 that he faced. International Falls avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of zero power plays.
