Early goals doom Proctor, falls to Hibbing / Chisholm, 9-0Proctor Mon, Jan 28, 2013 The Hibbing / Chisholm Bluejackets opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 9-0 over the Proctor Rails. Hibbing / Chisholm got the win with help from a great game by Josh Bestul, who had four goals and one assist. Bestul's first goal came 2:24 into the first period. He then added goals at 3:13 into the first, at 10:46 into the second, and at 13:48 into the second. The Bluejackets put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Proctor to score on any of its three power plays. Hibbing / Chisholm found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Bluejackets have scored at the pace of 3.4 goals per game during the current campaign. Hibbing / Chisholm's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. By firing 47 shots on goal, the Bluejackets exceeded the 0.7 shots they average per game this year. Hibbing / Chisholm also got points from Cole Schafer, who also tallied two goals and three assists and Eric Gotz, who also had one goal and one assist. Cole Maki also scored for Hibbing / Chisholm. More assists for Hibbing / Chisholm came via Billy Wherland, who had two, Adam Johnson, who had four, and Derek Abrahamson, Eric Gooden, and Eric Riihinen, who contributed one a piece. The Rails could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Proctor averages 2.5 goals per game. The Rails found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 11 shots against Hibbing / Chisholm's defense. Tyler Carlson made 11 saves for the Bluejackets on 11 shots. Hibbing / Chisholm incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Proctor's Isaac Scherber stopped 38 shots out of the 47 that he faced. The Rails incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
