Przybylski leads Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl over Eveleth-Gilbert, 13-1

Behind a great game by Jordan Przybylski, who had two goals and two assists, the Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl Blue Devils defeated the Eveleth-Gilbert Golden Bears, 13-1.

Przybylski found the back of the net 43 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl and again while 7:30 into the first to make the score 2-1 Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl.

Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Eveleth-Gilbert to score on any of its four power plays. The Blue Devils forced the Golden Bears goalie Casey Diwishek to work between the pipes, taking 63 shots. Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl bested its season scoring average. This season, the Blue Devils average 3.2 goals per contest. Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl also got points from Zach Voss, who also grabbed two goals and three assists to lead the team in points, Chase Poppenhagen, who also had one goal and one assist, Andy Callister, who also registered one goal and one assist, Colton Anderson, who also racked up two goals and two assists, Zach Kalisch, who also registered two goals and two assists, and Travis Kemp, who also had two goals and two assists. Louie Judnick also scored for Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl. More assists for Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl came via Cole Babiracki, who had two and Tom Ostergaard, Alex Lackner, and Mitch Sella, who each chipped in one.

Eveleth-Gilbert was led by Daniel Rodriguez, who scored the team's only goal. Rodriguez scored 3:58 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Zach Skelton provided the assist.

The Blue Devils' Lucas Murray stopped 16 shots out of the 17 that he faced. Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Casey Diwishek made 50 saves for the Golden Bears on 63 shots. Eveleth-Gilbert incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
