Grand Rapids overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Thunderhawks trailed 2-0 after a power play goal by Elk River's Tim Sandford at 13:50 in the first period. Grand Rapids tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Reid Holum at 15:29 in the second period.

Peterson had two goals to lead the Thunderhawks to victory.
