The Duluth Denfeld Hunters gutted out a close 5-3 win against the Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl Blue Devils.

Duluth Denfeld gained the winning advantage on a goal by Alex Thomspon 11:12 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

Thomspon had one goal and two assists to lead the Hunters.

Duluth Denfeld excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The 29 shots that the Hunters put on net surpassed Duluth Denfeld's average of 0.3 shots per game this season.

Duluth Denfeld also got points from Levi Talarico, who also had two goals and one assist and Steven Maciver, who also registered one goal and one assist.
