Roseau survives penalties, beats Hibbing / Chisholm, 4-1

The Roseau Rams, which found themselves down a man often, weathered the Hibbing / Chisholm Bluejackets' power play opportunities and emerged with a 4-1 victory.

Roseau was paced by Alex Strand, who tallied one goal and one assist. Strand scored on the power play 11:47 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Roseau. The Rams earned a power play opportunity when Colten Perkins was put in the box for holding.

Roseau stifled Hibbing / Chisholm's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Rams kept the Bluejackets' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Carlson made 39 saves on 43 shots. Roseau's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. The Rams found themselves short handed often, totaling 16 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays.

Roseau also got a goal from Tanner Okeson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Roseau were Joe Vatnsdal, Zach Yon, and Jack Helgeson, who each chipped in one.

Hibbing / Chisholm's offense was clicking better than usual and put 18 shots on goal during the game, better than the 2.0 shots per game it averages. The Bluejackets could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

More assists for Hibbing / Chisholm came via Eric Riihinen and Joe Kanipes, who contributed one a piece.

Ryan Anderson made 17 saves for Roseau on 18 shots. The Rams registered two goals on six power play opportunities.
