Greenway completes comeback, beats Northern Lakes, 6-5Hodgins-Berardo Arena Thu, Dec 06, 2012 The Greenway Raiders climbed out of a four-goal hole to beat the Northern Lakes Lightning, 6-5. Greenway never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Raiders trailed 5-1 after a goal by Northern Lakes' Kyle Narveson at 10:48 in the second period. Greenway knotted things up at 5-5 on a power play goal by Jayden Gangl at 13:14 in the third period. The Raiders netted the game winner at 16:55 in the third period on a goal by Gangl. Greenway got the win thanks to a great game by Gangl, who had two goals and two assists. Gangl scored the first of his two goals at 1:49 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Northern Lakes. Alex Troumbly assisted on the tally. Gangl's next tally made the score with 6:46 left in the third period. Nick O''''''''Toole picked up the assist. The Raiders kept the Lightning's goalie busy throughout the game, and Mitch Stangel made 32 saves on 38 shots. Greenway outdid its season average for goals scored. The Raiders average 3.8 goals per game. Greenway also got points from Troumbly, who also tallied two goals and two assists and Bazil Zuehlke, who also had one goal and two assists. Greenway also got a goal from Zach Childs as well. Northern Lakes' offense rang up 42 shots on Greenway's net. The Lightning surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Northern Lakes has scored at the pace of 2.3 goals per game during the current campaign. The Lightning's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Northern Lakes gives up 2.5 goals per game. The Lightning were helped by Kegan Couture, who registered two goals and one assist. Couture scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 2:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Northern Lakes. Northern Lakes had taken the advantage when the Raiders' Gangl got sent off for tripping. Ben Moe assisted on the tally. Couture's next tally on the power play made the score 3-0 Northern Lakes with 13:49 left in the first period. Moe provided the assist. Aspen Florey also scored for Northern Lakes. More assists for Northern Lakes came via Hunter Leslie and Nick Blanchette, who each chipped in one. Sam LaDoux made 37 saves for Greenway on 42 shots. The Raiders incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Lightning incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
