Minnetonka blows out Hibbing / Chisholm, 6-1Xcel Energy Center Fri, Nov 30, 2012 The Minnetonka Skippers were firing on all cylinders against the Hibbing / Chisholm Bluejackets, and when the final buzzer sounded Skippers emerged with a 6-1 win. Minnetonka was paced by Jimmy Schuldt, who finished with one goal. Schuldt scored on the power play 16:52 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Minnetonka. The Skippers earned a power play opportunity when Adam Johnson was put in the box for tripping. Connor Thie provided the assist. Minnetonka racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 12.0 minutes per game the Skippers had been spending in the box. Minnetonka's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Hibbing / Chisholm power plays. The Skippers relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Max Coatta, Thie and Jared Ridge took 23 of the team's 41 shots. Minnetonka also got points from Thie, who also racked up three goals and two assists to lead the team in points and Coatta, who also had one goal and three assists. Other players who recorded assists for Minnetonka were Thomas Vanneli and Justin Bader, who contributed one a piece. Hibbing / Chisholm allowed the opposing goaltender to relax, getting only 14 shots on goal to force 13 saves. However, the Bluejackets took more shots in the game than the 3.5 per game they average. Hibbing / Chisholm struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 24 penalty minutes for five opposing power plays. Paul Ciaccio recorded 13 saves for Minnetonka. For the Skippers, Samuel McNeill was ejected from the game. Tyler Carlson made 35 saves for the Bluejackets on 41 shots. Hibbing / Chisholm ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cole Schafer was ejected from the game.
