Crookston holds on for 6-4 win against Lake of the Woods/IndusLake of the Woods H.S. Fri, Feb 08, 2013 The Lake of the Woods/Indus Bears tried their best to erase a five-goal deficit, but the Crookston Pirates would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-4. Crookston made the score 6-1 on a goal by Ryan Bittner at 7:04 in the third period, and Lake of the Woods/Indus got as close as 6-4 when Blake Olson scored 13:27 into the third period. The Pirates forced the Bears goalie Kyle Olson to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Crookston was led by Ryan Edevold, who racked up three goals. Crookston additionally got points from Doug Larson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Crookston also got a goal from Dylan Klatt as well. In addition, Crookston received assists from Connor Morgan and Brady Heppner, who contributed two a piece. Lake of the Woods/Indus was led by Victor Dahl, who had two goals. Dahl scored the first of his two goals at 20 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-1 Crookston. Kalvin Krause provided the assist. Dahl's next tally made the score 6-2 Crookston with 11:34 left in the third period. Kenton Peters picked up the assist. Logan Jackson also scored for Lake of the Woods/Indus. More assists for Lake of the Woods/Indus came via John Brown and Dominic Krause, who each chipped in one. The Pirates' Parker Epema stopped 15 shots out of the 19 that he faced. Crookston incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Olson rejected 32 shots on goal for the Bears. Lake of the Woods/Indus incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
