Heppner's hat trick boosts Crookston over Park Rapids, 6-3

The Park Rapids Panthers could not stop the Crookston Pirates' Brady Heppner, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-3 win.

Heppner got on the scoresheet 2:47 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:53 into the third and at 16:29 into the third.

Crookston's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Park Rapids power plays.

Crookston also got points from Ryan Edevold, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Chandler St. Michel also scored for Crookston. Other players who recorded assists for Crookston were Connor Morgan, who had two and Kal Salentiny and Montell Tate, who contributed one a piece.

The defensemen of Park Rapids were also effective in the Pirates' zone, and came away with two goals.

The Panthers were helped by Frank Moren, who tallied two goals. Moren scored the first of his two goals at 8:42 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Crookston. Moren's next tally made the score 3-3 with 9:50 left in the third period. Noah Macpherson picked up the assist. Park Rapids additionally got points from Macpherson, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Park Rapids came via Matt DelaHunt, Ian Johnson, and Connor Kennedy, who each chipped in one.

Crookston's Landon Stainbrook stopped 17 shots out of the 20 that he faced. The Pirates incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Cody Brumbaugh made 14 saves for Park Rapids on 20 shots. The Panthers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
