Detroit Lakes holds on for 4-3 win against Wadena-Deer CreekKent Freeman Arena Tue, Jan 08, 2013 The Detroit Lakes Lakers survived a determined comeback attempt by the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines on the way to a 4-3 win. Detroit Lakes made the score 3-1 on a goal by Taylor Johnson at 1:55 in the second period, and Wadena-Deer Creek got as close as 3-2 when Mitchell Swanson scored 26 seconds into the third period. The Lakers were sparked by Michael Hermann, who finished with one goal. Hermann scored 16:05 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Detroit Lakes. Jacob Fritz picked up the assist. Detroit Lakes' offense rang up 37 shots on the Wolverines' net. Ryan Deconcini also scored for Detroit Lakes. In addition, Detroit Lakes received assists from Austin Rusness, Brady Crawford, and Ben Nelson, who each chipped in one. The defensemen of Wadena-Deer Creek were also effective in the Lakers' zone, and came away with two goals. Wadena-Deer Creek also got a goal from Christian Berg as well.
